State Plan Progress

The 2008-2010 State Plan for Independent Living (SPIL) was approved in September 2007. If you are interested in participating in the development of the new State Plan please contact the office for more information. We held a planning retreat on December 8, 2009 and are working on developing the next State Plan. We are planning on holding public hearings in April and May of 2010.

Looking for a Few Good Members!

ILCW is seeking a new member to fill a vacancy. Members of the Council are appointed by the Governor and serve for three-year terms that begin on July 1. New vacancies occur each year.

ILCW seeks candidates for membership who have knowledge about Independent Living Centers and Independent Living services in the state. We try ensure that the diversity of Wisconsin's population is represented on the Council, including different areas of the state and different types of disability. We encourage people who can represent underserved groups to apply for membership.

Members assist in leading Wisconsin to promote independent living for people with disabilities. We’ve put out notice statewide that ILCW needs new board members. If you fill out the Governor’s application, please Contact Us and send us a copy as we review all applications.
